HEZ - CHRONICLES OF A MIGHTY MAN Hezrai the Carmelite was one of David’s mighty men. But what was his life, and the life of those other great and courageous warriors who followed David, really like? How did they meet him? What did they have to endure as they fled from Saul? What was it like when David became king? And when Absalom seized the throne? And when they returned to Jerusalem? Here we attempt answers to these questions. The life of Hezrai – or Hez – is a challenge for us all.

  • The Prayer Journal is designed to help in regular and thoughtful prayer. Each day gives a suggested prayer topic and the daily readings. There are spaces for weekly and monthly reflections, and each page has Bible passages on prayer printed in full. At the front and back are sections with tips on how to pray as an individual, a couple, a family and in a group/ecclesia setting. There is plenty of room for your own notes, but the journal is also thin enough to fit into a Bible case, handbag or workbag.

  • This is a devotional study of the Almighty Creator, the God of the Bible, who calls on men and women to seek Him diligently in faith, accepting and fulfilling their responsibilities now. Then, in due time by God’s grace, they will be privileged to share the blessings of His coming kingdom on earth at the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, His beloved Son.

  • The wonderful hope of the Bible is the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to establish the kingdom of God on earth. The Bible gives us indicators that God’s purpose is moving towards its completion through world events that are a fulfilment of Bible prophecy. These are ‘signs of the times’, generating excitement and strengthening faith.

In his Mount Olivet prophecy about these signs, Jesus emphasises to his disciples the need to watch – but what signs should we be looking for? And did Jesus just mean keeping an eye on world events and current affairs, or is there more to it?

  • The path we walk as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ and as children of God is described as the “narrow way” – and with good reason. We regularly encounter snares, obstacles and potholes as we patiently navigate the rocky road. Yet there is also much light and beauty to enjoy as we make that journey.
An A-Z of Discipleship considers the many and varied aspects of discipleship – from cultivating acceptance to showing zeal. Down-to-earth, God-centred and thought-provoking, each chapter will both comfort and challenge the reader.
With questions for consideration throughout, this book can help with personal devotion or be used as a basis for group study.

  • In any family a new birth is the cause of great happiness. This is followed by the expectation and deep desire that the recent arrival will develop and grow into a fine adult. Plans are almost always made by the family to help this process along. It is no different with God’s family.
Spiritual newborns need to learn what it means to be a member of God’s family and how to contribute. After baptism there is a need to grow and mature into the measure of the Lord Jesus. This book considers basic principles for Christlike living and offers some practical advice for new brothers and sisters to help them grow up into Christ.

  • Samson is often portrayed as a wayward, lustful man, his inclusion in the roll-call of the faithful in Hebrews 11 being difficult to explain.
This book offers a different view of Samson as Israel’s God-given saviour, a man of faith who felt the frailties of the flesh and did sin, but in other respects is presented in scripture as a type of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • This book examines fifteen different Bible characters and seeks to provide an insight into the hearts and minds of these men and women who move through the word of God in such a fascinating way.

  • As the firstborn son of the first mortal king of Israel, Jonathan should, by rights, have been the next king.
Indeed, naturally speaking, he would surely have been a marvellous ruler over God’s people. And yet it was not to be. Another would rule instead of him, as decreed by the Almighty. Some would have complained at the apparent injustice of this: not Jonathan. His faithful acceptance of the will of the Father, and his love for the one who was to take his place, provide wonderful lessons for us all.

Despite their failure, “the way of the tree of life” was preserved. This book tells the story of God’s plan to heal the breach man created and restore access to the tree of life.

  • “Zeal is being swamped by the intimate chaos of personal life … Wherever they go, hearts will be challenged, believers shaken, in ways none of them will foresee.”
This fictional work, written for adults, continues the narrative of key characters in the series, bridging the gap between Paul’s first and second journeys. It presents very human challenges faced by both Jewish and Gentile believers, as they strove to live the message amidst the diverse cultural backgrounds from which they were drawn.
A time when the ‘glory days’ of the original unity and excitement were being overtaken by ecclesial and personal strife – when maintaining faith and enthusiasm was harder, yet more important, than ever.
