Help with paying

This area lists the most commonly asked questions when paying for items ordered from our website, which are listed below.

How can I pay for my order?

You can pay for your order straight away using a credit or debit card, or you can request an invoice to be sent with your order - which you can pay after you receive your order - by card or cheque.

Make cheques payable to "The Christadelphian", together with your name, postcode, and invoice number written on the back.

I have a book token for the Christadelphian Office. Can I use this as full or part payment for an order?

Of course. When you check out your order, enter the number and amount from the book token into the ‘Special instructions’ field, which is on the second page of the checkout; when we receive your order we will deduct the amount for any unclaimed book tokens.

Please note that when you receive your automated confirmation email, it won't show the discounted amount. However this will appear on your invoice or receipt which you will receive with your order. Also remember that you can only use a book token once.

Is paying by card safe?

Completely. When an order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128-bit encryption; they cannot be read by any unauthorised party while they are being sent. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer; they are not held in clear text on any web site.

However, you should never send us your credit card details by unsecured means - so never ever send them by email!

I want to pay an outstanding invoice online. How can I do that?

On the top level of our store, you will find a section called ‘Payments or donations’. Within this section you will find a 'product' called Pay invoice. Simply follow the instructions to pay the invoice. You will need your invoice number to complete the process. This will add an item called "Pay invoice" to your basket. You can then check out your item in the usual way. Remember to select Credit or Debit Card as a payment method!

When we have received and processed your payment, we will send you a payment confirmation email.

I have tried to pay an invoice online, but when I enter the amount in the quantity field it says “Quantity: The quantity must be a whole number between 1 and 32767”. What does this mean?

Firstly, you should enter a whole number into the Quantity field - so don't enter a comma or a full stop.

You will also get this message if you are attempting to pay an invoice with a value over £327.67; if this is the case, simply enter '1' in the quantity field and enter your invoice number as before. When we process your payment we will cross-reference the invoice number to the corresponding invoice on our system and will charge your card with the relevant amount.

Please note that the automated order confirmation email will list the incorrect price, but rest assured that your card will be debited with the correct amount. This will be reflected in the payment confirmation email which is sent when we have received and processed your payment.
