Help with delivery
This area lists the most commonly asked questions regarding delivery from our website, which are listed below.
- I have bought a second-hand book. The postage cost on my emailed receipt is different to my invoice. How come?

I have bought a second-hand book. The postage cost on my emailed receipt is different to my invoice. How come?
Our webstore calculates postage based on the weight of the item. When we add new products to our accounting system, the item is weighed and this is added to the product record. This information is then transferred to our webstore.
However, as we have so many second-hand books, it would take too long to weigh them. Therefore, as the information about the book doesn't contain a weight, the webstore is inable to calculate the postage correctly. But when we process and pack your order, we will weigh it at that stage, and you will be charged the correct amount.

Can I have my order delivered to a different address?
Of course. Simply check the box underneath the Select shipping destination drop-down list on the first page of the checkout. You will then be able to enter the delivery address on the third page of the checkout.

When I check out my order, the delivery is £20.00, and I can't change it. Why not?
This is because you have selected a destination on the first checkout page which is not defined in our webstore.
We define the shipping destinations based on where the majority of our orders ore sent. These are the UK, North America, Australasia, Europe, and South Africa. Because there are over 200 different destinations to define (some of which we may never send anything to), and because the postage costs to these destinations can change on a week-by-week basis, a default amount is applied to all orders from countries outside the defined areas. However, when your order is processed, we will work out the correct postage; you can be assured that we will only charge you the actual postage cost.
I live locally to the office and want to be able to pick up my order, rather than having it posted. Can I do that?
Absolutely! We are always pleased to receive personal callers. If you want to pick an order up, just add a note in the 'Special instructions' field, which is on the second page of the checkout, informing us when you hope to pick it up, and who will be picking it up; and when we process your order, we will remove the postage costs. If you elect to pay by card online, we will remove the postage costs before we charge your card.
Please note: It is your responsibility to organise the collection or your order (but this really goes without saying!). It is also advisable to phone before setting off to collect it, just to make sure it is ready.
