How do I buy products from your online bookshop?
Buying products online is very similar to buying them in a supermarket!
When you shop in a supermarket, you place items you want in a basket, which you then take to a checkout. These items are then identified and added up, with the total cost being given to you. You then pay for the items, after which you are presented with a receipt.
Our online bookshop also has a basket and a checkout, and works in exactly the same way!
How do I add items to my basket?
This is very easy. Simply go to the product you want to buy (see the question on browsing for details) and click the [Add to basket] button just underneath the price.
A new page will appear, showing you the item and the price. You have three buttons to choose from, together with the instructions of what each button does.
- If you click [Confirm], it will add the item to your basket. It will then show you what's in your basket for a few seconds, after which it will return you to the page you came from.
- If you click [Cancel], it will take you back to the page you came from, and won't add anything to your basket.
- If you click [Checkout], it will show you what's in your basket for a few seconds, and then take you straight to the checkout.
I want more than one item. How do I buy multiple items?
If you want more than one copy of the same item, simply enter the quantity required into the [Quantity] box which appears on the confirmation page (discussed in the question above).
If you want a number of different items, then just repeat the process of adding items to your basket as many times as required.
How do I view the contents of my basket?
You can view your basket at any time (except when you're in the checkout) by clicking the [View or change basket] link, which is just underneath the tabs at the top of the page of the online bookshop.
I've added an item to my basket, but I want to change the quantity. How do I do that?
To do this, just click on the [View or change basket] link (discussed in the question above). From here you can amend the quantity by typing in the required amount in the [Quantity] box.
- If you click [Update], it will update your basket and will show you your basket straight away.
- If you click [Continue], it will update your basket and take you back to the page you were just on.
- If you click [Checkout], it will take you straight to the checkout, updating your basket at the same time.
When making changes to your basket, remember that you can make multiple changes at once.
I've added an item to my basket, but I added the wrong one. How do I remove it?
This is very similar to the previous question. Click on the [View or change basket] link (discussed in the question above). From here you can remove an item by checking the [remove] box.
- If you click [Update], it will update your basket and will show you your basket straight away, minus the products you had just deleted.
- If you click [Continue], it will update your basket and take you back to the page you were just on.
- If you click [Checkout], it will take you straight to the checkout, updating your basket at the same time.
When making changes to your basket, remember that you can make multiple changes at once.
